Live vision television commercials add the need for crew. In days gone by we would have camera, sound, movement (grip), lighting (gaffer), makeup, wardrobe, props and art, and in some cases talent. Currently where we can, where budgets are tight, we try and use contractors that can bring multiple of these to the table, so we can do away uneccessary costs and streamline our approach. As a base our costs include, creative development and scripting, producing and directing, voice over recording and licensing, editing and motion graphics design, music licensing and CAD approval.
The above Karcher TVC was in the $50K range whilst the St Vinnies TVC, excluding the talent would have been around $10K if we'd charged for it. As a guide, Creatology's live vision commercials cost range would begin from the $4K mark for 4 hours filming on location and scaling upwards depending on the other ingredients and elements required.
